The Founding Mothers were a group of remarkable women who played a vital role in the founding of the United States of America. They were wives, mothers, sisters, and daughters, and they used their influence to support the cause of liberty and independence.

These women were not always recognized for their contributions, but their stories are finally being told. They were courageous, intelligent, and determined, and they helped to shape the course of American history.

Abigail Adams was the wife of John Adams, the second president of the United States. She was a strong advocate for women's rights and education, and she corresponded with her husband about the need for a more just and equitable society.

In one of her most famous letters, Abigail wrote to John:

I long to hear that you have declared an independency - and by the way in the new Code of Laws which I suppose it will be necessary for you to make I desire you would Remember the Ladies, and be more generous and favourable to them than your ancestors. Do not put such unlimited power into the hands of the Husbands. Remember all Men would be tyrants if they could. If particular care and attention is not paid to the Ladies we are determined to foment a Rebellion, and will not hold ourselves bound by any Laws in which we have no voice, or Representation.

Abigail's words were prophetic, and they helped to inspire the women's rights movement in the United States.
